Daycare FAQs
- I need to drop off my dog before you open, can I do that?
- You sure can, give us a call to learn more about our 24/7 pick-up and drop-off services.
- What vaccinations are required for my dog to go to The Collar Club?
- We require rabies, DHPP and bordetella (frequency per Veterinary requirement) for all services. We also accept titer testing if done by a licensed veterinarian.
- How do I access the Cameras?
- Go to waldo.collarclubkc.com, click the "Webcams" button or click "Make Your Reservation", Sign in to your customer profile. If you are on a mobile device, select the menu button (the 3 horizontal lines/hamburger menu), look for photo/video, select live webcams and pick which webcam you would like to view! Cameras are only available while your pup is checked in.
- My dog has not been spayed/neutered, can they still play?
- The Missouri Department of Agriculture requires all dogs in group play to be spayed or neutered. However, unaltered pups can daystay at The Collar Club and get pampered by our Caregivers throughout the day.
- I am looking at the cameras and don't see my dog, why is that?
- We pride ourselves in the safe environment we provide for all the dogs that come through our doors. Every dog is evaluated and temperament tested before playing in group, but that doesn't mean disagreements or altercations won't happen from time to time. Our staff has been trained to read body language and understand your dog in order to safely manage our daycare areas. If our staff sees that a dog needs a little time to themselves or are a little to over-stimulated, then they may cool down in one of our suites.
- Do I need a reservation to bring my dog for daycare?
- In order to assure you have a spot in daycare, we strongly recommend making a reservation. However, as long as we have up-to-date vaccination records on your account, you are more than welcome to drop-off without a reservation.
- What are the benefits of daycare for my dog?
- Daycare is an important activity for many reasons. It is a safe environment where you can confidently leave your dog to exercise, socialize with other dogs and boost their confidence.
Boarding FAQs
- I need to drop off my dog before you open, can I do that?
- You sure can, give us a call to learn more about our 24/7 pick-up and drop-off services.
- Does The Collar Club have food my dog can eat?
- Yes, we offer Fromm as our house food if you are not able to bring your own. It is strongly recommended to bring the food your dog is accustomed to because changing your dog's diet suddenly can upset their stomach. However, we are happy to use our house food if you would like. If you choose to have us feed your dog(s) with our house food, there will be an additional charge per day per dog. Please visit the Pricing and Memberships page for the per day per dog rate. Our house food contains chicken.
- What belongings should I bring for my dog?
- Bring your pups food and any medications. If you would like to bring a favorite toy, you are more than welcome, but we do not recommend bringing too many bedding items. If you have any questions, please ask our staff!
- What vaccinations are required for my dog to go to The Collar Club?
- We require rabies, DHPP and bordetella (frequency per Veterinary requirement) for all services. We also accept titer testing if done by a licensed veterinarian.
- Does my dog get to play during the day?
- Absolutely! All boarding dogs will be in daycare with the rest of the pack after passing our temperament test. This is included in your boarding price, so there is no additional cost to you.
- What if my dog doesn't pass their temperament test?
- If your pup can't be in daycare, they will still get plenty of time out to run around and play with one of our caregivers! We have several play areas, so even if your dog can't be in group, they will get plenty of attention and love.

Grooming FAQs
- Why don't I have a specific appointment time?
- We utilize slot-based scheduling for our salon because it enables us to give each dog the time and care it deserves. If you need to pick-up or drop-off at a specific time, just let our staff know and we are happy to work with you.
- When is pick-up and drop-off?
- We request that you drop-off your dog between 7:00am-9:00am on the day of your appointment. You will receive a text message when grooming services are complete. If there is a specific time you need to pick-up, just let our Salon team know upon drop-off!
- Why are your prices estimated and not set in stone?
- Pricing is estimated because each dog is different. Some dogs need more time in the salon because they are nervous, some need to air dry instead of blow dry. Other pups may require the groom to be done over several days or may have been needing a groom for months. It's akin to when you have to rake the leaves in your yard. If you do it on the first day each tree sheds their leaves, it only takes you a few minutes. If you wait three months and do them all at once, it takes a few hours!
- If my dog is there for daycare or boarding, can I get them groomed as well?
- Absolutely! You can request "extra services" when making your boarding or daycare reservation online, or give us a call and our staff is happy to schedule it for you.

Training FAQs
- Is there enough space to promote social distancing and am I required to wear a mask?
- Yes, the areas where training is held are large enough to keep a safe social distance and masks are required.
- What is balanced training?
- Balanced training, in its simplest form, is training with both a mix of aversive consequence and reward based techniques. Dogs are shown how to preform tasks using food and then guided once they have learned the task.
- What if class falls on a holiday?
- Classes will not be held during the week of holidays. They will still be six weeks in duration, with a break during that week.
- How many people should come to class with me? Should I bring the entire family?
- Any person that will take a major part in not only the handling of your dog, but the training as well, is welcome in class. All attendees must be at least 10 years of age.
- What class should I start with?
- Petiquette Bronze is a great starting point, even for dogs that have some basis of training. If you think your pet is further along, we offer free evaluations to better place your pet in a more advanced class.
